The Unitil Scholarship Fund celebrates some of our community's brightest students in STEM.
Unitil is pleased to offer five (5) scholarships, each in the amount of $5,000, to graduating high school seniors from our electric and natural gas service territories in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Maine. These scholarships are designed to support students who plan to pursue undergraduate degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) fields.
Scholarship awards are shared across Unitil’s service territory to reflect the communities we serve and to ensure students from across our region have the opportunity to apply. Scholarship funds are intended for use during the recipient’s first year of undergraduate study. All applications must be submitted online through the application portal.

Scholarship Winners
We are very proud to announce the 2026 recipients of the Unitil Scholarship Fund. The Unitil Scholarship Fund was established in 2011 to support students who demonstrate exceptional potential for careers in STEM. This year marks over $480,000 given to students in our local communities. The students plan on pursuing degrees in STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math) and will use the scholarship for their first year of undergraduate study.
The 2026 student winners are:
- Maggie Hall, of Concord, New Hampshire, a graduate of Concord High School, plans to study biology as a pre-med student at the College of the Holy Cross.
- Anna Doherty, of Hampton, New Hampshire, a graduate of The Governor's Academy, plans to study oceanography at the University of Miami.
- Sage Orni, of Lunenburg, Massachusetts, a graduate of Lunenburg High School, plans to study mathematics and statistics at the College of the Holy Cross.
- Julia Spencer, of Brewer, Maine, a graduate of Brewer High School, plans to study health science and physical therapy at Husson University.
- Lauren Jordan, of North Berwick, Maine, a graduate of Noble High School, plans to study public health as a pre-med student at the University of Rhode Island.
As part of the program, a sixth student, the child of a Unitil employee, was also awarded a scholarship. Coleman Chase of Hampden, Maine, a graduate of Hampden Academy, plans to study Kinesiology at the University of Maine.

It’s truly inspiring to witness the incredible achievements of students from our service territories, and we’re excited to continue empowering the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.
